What is dripping?

Dripping is a slightly different process to vaping that requires slightly different equipment, although the concept is very similar. You can still use the same e-liquids and almost the same devices to vaporise them, but what you do differently is based around the cartomiser that you would normally fill with juice before vaping. In the case of dripping, this is actually not used or required at all.

Instead, what you would normally do is drip just a few droplets of your chosen e-liquid directly onto the most important part of your atomiser, more specifically the coil or the bridge. To do this you would need to remove the tip of a pen-style device, insert the drips and replace the lid.

You can replace parts on your device to make this easier and stop you from having to dismantle your device repeatedly. For example, it is common for people who enjoying dripping regularly to remove the bridge which usually covers the coil to spread out the liquid, and instead drip the liquid onto the coils themselves manually. You may also choose to use a drip tip on your device with a greater width which makes it easier to drip. This is a major advantage because you can keep your device in one piece while vaping with this method.Continue reading

Cloud Chasing

When people take their vaping really seriously, many start to get into cloud chasing. It has been dismissed by some people as showing off, and it’s also considered rude to constantly blow massive clouds of vapour in public, but that doesn’t stop some e-liquid vapers from enjoying the practice and even making it into something of a competitive sport. There are even several global contests offering significant prizes for the best cloud chasers.

All of this comes down to the skills of those people when setting up their tools, including the atomisers that produce the clouds and the e-liquids that go into them. Here is a basic summary of what aspiring cloud chasers should be considering if they want to get into it.

Battery

Powered mods will need a suitable battery to give the best results, which means it needs to provide the correct level of power, and above all be safe.

Build

A major factor is the physical design of your mod and choice of coil, which will vary the resistance. This is definitely going to have an impact on the sort of vapour clouds you produce.Continue reading

Craft e-liquids are a specific category of higher end e-liquids that you may be particularly interested in if you’re really getting into the world of vaping as a hobby. These more sophisticated products have been created with a bit more care and attention than your classic bargain basement e-liquids that might have more weak, basic and artificial flavours.

Craft e-liquids will be made from higher quality ingredients by people with a real understanding of how to make the flavours more intense and provide a great vaping experience. Here are some of the top brands to consider when shopping for craft e-liquids.

Five Pawns

This Californian brand is really going for a classy and elegant design scheme, with a traditional look despite the modern industry it’s in. You’ll find Five Pawns in only the best vaping boutique stores, and they have a small selection of very high quality flavours to try.

For people who are into vaping, whether it’s as an aid to quitting smoking for just because they enjoy it, experimenting with different flavour combinations can be the most fun part. If you’re going one level up from pre-made e-cigarettes, perhaps using a more substantial mod to vape, you can try out some more advanced liquids and mix your own DIY combinations. Flavourings for e-liquids are available from many great brands, but we would recommend trying some of these for a really great vaping experience.

1) Flavour ArtFlavourArt

This UK brand has one of the widest ranges of flavours around, with over 180 different varieties to taste. Their liquids are available in nicotine-free varieties as well as the traditional ones which do contain a certain percentage of it. As well as different collections of flavours including Fruit, Sweet and Passion, they even offer a tasting sample kit as well as special flavour enhancing ingredients.

Capella2) Capella

For a huge range of fruit and dessert themed e-liquids which are cheap and also taste incredible, Capella is one of your top options. They have some really unique flavours, and just a few examples include Cake Batter, Dragon Fruit, New York Cheesecake and many more exciting options. Mix your own eliquid favours

There are so many e-liquids on the market that you might be overwhelmed with choices at first, but many people manage to work their way through a lot of different brands and flavours relatively quickly. Once you’ve figured out what you like or don’t like, the prices of some professionally prepared e-liquids can get frustrating and many people turn to the idea of mixing their own.

If you want to experiment with new flavour combinations and create some original DIY e-liquids, here are the most crucial ingredients you will need before you make a start.

1) Propylene Glycol (PG)

This is the most common choice among vapers and will serve as the starting point for mixing your e-liquid. Since it may contain animal fats it isn’t suitable for everyone, so people who are vegetarian/vegan or have allergies to PG will usually use vegetable glycerine (VG) as a substitute. Whichever option you go for, you have to ensure it’s classed as “food grade” so it’s safe to use.

2) Distilled water

This is not always strictly essential, but if you’re using VG as your main liquid base this is usually too thick and you’ll need to add the distilled water in order to make it thinner.Continue reading

Mixing your own e-liquids to create an amazing and unique flavour is a rewarding activity that most vapers love to get into after gaining some experience using mods. The beauty of vaping with most of the best mods currently on the market is that you’re able to customise them with different elements to your heart’s content – flexibility and compatibility are our favourite features to look for in a great box mod. What better way to enhance your vaping experience than combining flavoured liquids in new and exciting ways?

A quick side note – experimenting with your own flavours is mainly only for box mod users! If you try to use more advanced e-liquids in a regular electronic cigarette you risk breaking it and wasting your mix.

Once you understand the basics of how to mix your own concentrates with the correct proportions of nicotine and base liquid, you’ll be able to start getting creative. However, it’s important to bear in mind that certain flavour combinations work much better than others, whichever way you choose to combine them and experiment. A few basic rules apply and if you’re into cooking or making cocktails you’ll probably be familiar with the obvious ones.

For example, some fruit flavours work perfectly if you pair them with warm, wintery ingredients, like mixing apple with caramel, ginger or cardamom to produce an e-liquid that tastes like a fresh, home-baked dessert.  Citrus flavours tend to pair well with other tropical fruits, and you can blend in something like coconut or Brazil nut to add a creative flair to the final flavour. If you want some specific ideas for mixes, here are some hints to get you started with a few of our favourite combinations.Continue reading
